Warehouse workers for busy periods and regular needs

Facing a promotion, a seasonal peak or a stocktake? We help you with warehouse workers for everything from goods receiving to pick and pack.

Busy periods come in waves

Most warehouses know the pattern: for long stretches the staffing is right, and then a peak arrives and the orders pour in. It may be a promotion, the Christmas rush, a new customer, a stocktake or a move to new premises.

When you hire warehouse workers, you can scale up in the weeks when you need to, and back down again afterwards. Read more about how labour hire works in practice.

From goods receiving to dispatch

A warehouse worker can be part of the entire flow in a warehouse. Tell us where in the process you are short of people:

  1. Goods receiving: unloading, checking delivery notes and booking in
  2. Put-away: placing goods in locations and replenishing pick faces
  3. Picking: order picking with a handheld scanner, pick list or voice picking
  4. Pack and dispatch: packing, labelling and preparing for shipping
  5. Returns: inspection, sorting and putting back into stock
  6. Stocktaking: full stocktakes and ongoing counts of locations

If the worker also needs to drive a forklift or reach truck, read about hiring a forklift driver. Many truck types require a forklift certificate, whereas a manual pallet truck does not.

Chilled, frozen and other conditions

Working conditions vary a great deal from one warehouse to the next. Let us know if any of the following apply to you:

  • chilled or frozen storage, where special workwear is needed
  • heavy lifting or repetitive work
  • hygiene requirements, e.g. when handling food
  • shift work, evenings, nights or weekends
  • productivity targets the worker needs to know about in advance

The more we know about the conditions, the better we can find people who are comfortable with the work and stay for the whole period.

Making the start easier

A new warehouse worker becomes productive faster when their login for the warehouse system and scanner is ready from the first hour, and when there is a set person to ask. A short tour covering emergency exits, truck zones and lifting rules is also time well spent.

If the worker has used a warehouse management system before, training usually goes faster, even though the systems differ. Feel free to name your system, and tell us whether it is important that the worker speaks Danish or English, for example for the safety instructions.

Also agree with us who provides safety boots, gloves and, if needed, a freezer suit.

How Bemandix works

When you book, we find warehouse workers among our own people and at approved partners. You have one contact person, even if the workers come from several places, and you receive a specific proposal before anything is agreed.
