Warehousing and logistics
Hire workers for warehousing and logistics
When orders rise or your permanent staff are on holiday, the warehouse can quickly fall behind. We help you with warehouse workers, forklift drivers and pick and pack staff when you need more hands.

When volumes fluctuate
Most warehouses know the feeling: one moment everything is under control, the next there are pallets stacked to the ceiling and orders that must go out today. Typical periods when extra people are needed include:
- Black Friday, Christmas trading and other large campaigns
- Seasonal goods, such as garden furniture in spring or gifts in autumn
- Stocktaking and year-end
- Holiday periods, when permanent staff need to take their leave
- Moving the warehouse, a new layout or taking on a new customer
The earlier you know about a peak, the better we can plan the staffing with you. We also accept requests at short notice and will come back to you as soon as possible with what we can provide.
Roles in the warehouse
Pick and pack
Order picking with scanners or voice picking, packing, labelling and preparing goods for dispatch. Speed and accuracy matter most here. Read more about hiring warehouse workers.
Goods in and out
Receiving goods, checking deliveries, putting stock away in locations and loading vehicles. Many of these tasks require a forklift driver.
Terminal and cross-docking
Terminal workers sort and transfer goods between vehicles, often in the evening and at night, so the goods can go out early the next morning.
Coordination
A warehouse coordinator plans the day's work, allocates tasks and keeps in touch with drivers and customers. This can be a solution during a period of illness, parental leave or extra workload.
Removals
Removals workers help with office and business relocations, where furniture and equipment need to be packed, carried and set up.
Certificates and safety
If the worker is to drive a forklift truck, a forklift certificate is generally required. Also state if experience with reach trucks or trucks with high lift heights is needed, as this is not the same as driving an ordinary forklift truck. Safety shoes and high-visibility workwear are standard in most warehouses, and it is a good idea to agree in advance who provides what.
Make the first day easy
A good start saves everyone time. It helps if you have the following sorted in advance:
- Meeting point, start time and who will receive the worker
- Login for the scanner or warehouse management system
- A short run-through of the warehouse safety rules and traffic routes
- Shift length, breaks and any overtime
Short shifts or regular relief staff
Some warehouses need extra people a couple of days a week, others a fixed team throughout the season. For longer assignments, it helps if the same workers come back, so they get to know the warehouse, the systems and their colleagues. Tell us if your needs follow a regular pattern, such as extra people every Monday or in the run-up to month-end, and we can plan around it.
How we work
We find workers among our own people and from approved subcontractors, so we can cover both single shifts and longer assignments. You have one contact person who knows your booking and follows up along the way.
Tell us what you need using the Book workers form. We review the job and come back to you with a specific proposal before anything is agreed.
