Hire workers
Labour hire – hire workers when you need them
Short of people during a busy period, for a project or to cover absence – without having to employ them? With labour hire, the workers are employed by us or our partners, and you hire them for exactly the period you need.

What is labour hire?
Labour hire, also known as temporary staffing, means that you hire workers for a period instead of employing them yourself. The workers are employed by Bemandix or by one of our approved partners while they work for you.
You allocate and manage the work day to day, just as you would with your own people. We take care of finding the right workers, and pay and terms of employment are handled by the company that employs them. You pay for the hours that have been agreed and worked.
The approach is the same across industries. Whether you need to hire a carpenter, need an extra warehouse worker during a busy period or are short of a driver to cover a route, it starts with a booking.
Short or long term – you decide
The duration depends on your needs:
- Short term: busy weeks, illness, holidays, a single job or a seasonal peak.
- Longer term: projects lasting several months, a regular temp for a longer period or a solution that covers you until you have hired a permanent employee.
Your needs may change along the way. By agreement, you can extend a job or adjust the number of workers. If you would like to take on a temp permanently, talk to us about it. You can also read about recruitment and permanent hiring.
Hiring in and onward hire
We do not necessarily employ all the workers ourselves. When it gives the best solution, we hire in qualified people from approved partners and make them available to you. This is known as hiring in and onward hire.
In practice, this makes no difference to you. You still have one agreement and one contact person at Bemandix. If your own company has workers with spare capacity, you can read about becoming a partner.
Urgent staffing by agreement
Sometimes the need arises at short notice. A worker calls in sick, a delivery arrives earlier than expected, or a project is brought forward. Contact us as soon as you know what you need, and we will do our best to find a solution as soon as possible.
We only confirm workers once we know the right people can turn up. If you regularly need people at short notice, we can agree in advance how urgent bookings should be handled.
How to book
- Send a short job request with the trade, number of workers, start date and location. It takes less than a minute.
- We review the job and call you if anything needs clarifying – for example working hours or certificate requirements.
- You receive a specific quote. The booking is not binding until you have accepted it.
- The workers turn up as agreed, and you have a dedicated contact person with us throughout.
What you get
- workers selected to match the job and the requirements you have set
- one agreement and one contact person, whether the people come from us or from a partner
- clear terms for price, working hours and duration before the job begins
- the option to extend or adjust the staffing by agreement
- hours that you approve before anything is invoiced
Points to be aware of
Because you manage the work, you are also the one who introduces the workers to the workplace, the job and the safety rules that apply at your site. Who provides tools, workwear and personal protective equipment is agreed specifically for each job.
